Vought Rising: Everything We Know So Far About The Boys Spin-off

At the time of writing, The Boys has only two episodes left. After that, we’ll have to say goodbye to the 5-season hit show. But it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. There’s another spin-off on the horizon, a prequel in fact. Here’s everything we know so far about Vought Rising.

What Is Vought Rising? What’s It About?

It’s a prequel TV show to The Boys that will focus on the first-generation of heroes. According to Deadline, this is what The Boys showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke and executive producer Paul Grellong had to say about the show.

It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.

Who’s Going to Be in Vought Rising?

Although the show is set to take place 70 years before the events of The Boys, we’ve already met some of the key players that will appear in the spin-off. One of the main villains of The Boys season 2, Stormfront, will be appearing once again in Vought Rising. Soldier Boy, who has had a considerable presence in Seasons 3 and 5, will also be one of the main characters of the show.

Vought Rising will also feature the heroes Bombsight, Private Angel, and Torpedo. We don’t know anything about Torpedo or Private Angel, but we did get to meet and see Bombsight for the first time in The Boys Season 5 Episode 6. He’s shown to still be alive and still look the exact same as he did in the 50s. He also has an interesting interaction with Soldier Boy. They seem to hate each other, a hate that has lasted for decades.

In the end, however, Bombsight agrees to let Soldier Boy strip him of his powers and his immortality, allowing him to age and be with the woman he loves.

So, we know that Bombsight, Soldier Boy, and Stormfront at least survive whatever events will transpire in Vought Rising. As for Torpedo and Private Angel, their fates remain unclear.

When Does Vought Rising Premiere?

There’s no exact date as to when the show will premiere, but it will come out sometime in 2027. Which means that fans who are sad about The Boys ending won’t have to wait long for their next favorite TV show.

How Many Seasons of Vought Rising Will There Be?

There’s only been talk about the one season. But if it does well viewership-wise, then it could be easy to see it get renewed season after season. However, the last two The Boys spin-offs didn’t last that long. The Boys Presents: Diabolical lasted one season, and Gen-V lasted two. There’s also the third spin-off, The Boys: Mexico, which was announced years ago. In September 2025, Eric Kripke told Collider that the pilot was currently being developed. It’s not clear what phase the show is in now.

All of this to say that although The Boys TV show is popular, the future isn’t guaranteed. Soldier Boy is a fan-favorite, though, and they’ve been sprinkling in a ton of Vought Rising stuff in the last season of The Boys, so it’s possible that this outlasts the rest of the other spin-offs.
