Skip-Connected Policy Optimization for Implicit Advantage

While fine-grained dense rewards can theoretically improve performance, we reveal that under practical sampling budgets, Monte Carlo estimation yields high-variance and sign-inconsistent advantages for early reasoning tokens, paradoxically underperforming outcome-only GRPO.
