Starting with the classical Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR) model for basic epidemic behavior and the predator-prey (Lotka-Volterra, LV) system for ecological interactions, we then combine these frameworks into a coupled Lotka-Volterra-Susceptible-Infected-Susceptible (LVSIS) model.
